Dr. Lisa Coplit completed her medical school, residency, and chief resident training in Internal Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. She is an alumnus of both the Harvard Macy Program for Physician Educators and the Stanford Faculty Development Program in Clinical Teaching Skills. She served for 6 years as the director of the Institute for Medical Education at the Icahn School of Medicine in New York. In this role, she created programs for professional development and systems of recognition for educators at all levels of training. From 2009-2011, she led the national Academies Collaborative and the creation of its first steering committee and organizational structure. In 2011, Dr. Coplit joined Quinnipiac University as the Associate Dean for Faculty Development at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. At Netter, she oversees all faculty development efforts and co-directs the medical education concentration for the medical students. In addition, she is the chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) steering committee and a member of the steering committee of the AAMC Group on Educational Affairs. She continues to be dedicated to improving the recognition of educators in the health professions and creating opportunities for mentorship, educator skill development, and career advancement.
